By San Antonio city officials say the city should hire federal employees who have been laid off under President Trump’s administration.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg sent a memo to City Manager Erik Walsh last Thursday about the matter, three days after two city council members and mayoral candidates made the same suggestion.
Nirenberg pointed out that non-military federal employees are a large part of the local workforce. His memo didn’t say how many federal workers have lost their jobs in San Antonio.
