The mayor of Mission is asking the governor for help after a cybersecurity breach. The cyber attack was detected last Friday, leaving personal data in the city’s computer system vulnerable to exposure.

The mayor asked Governor Abbott to declare a local state of emergency earlier this week while the city works to secure its server.

Mission’s city manager says local officials are working with the Texas Department of Emergency Management and other agencies to try to fix the problem.
