The Texas Legislature is considering a ban on nearly all forms of THC, the psychoactive agent in marijuana.
State Senator Charles Perry of Lubbock wrote Senate Bill 3 to tighten regulations on THC products sold in convenience stores and vape shops. State law allows hemp products with trace amounts of non-intoxicating Delta 9 THC.
Supporters of Senate Bill 3 claim the current law creates a loophole that enables retailers to sell dangerous THC products to adults and children. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick supports the new bill.
