The Department of Education is offering a 25-thousand-dollar buyout to employees who quit by today. The offer went out in an email Friday, giving employees until 11:59 p.m. tonight to accept the offer.
The department is bracing for mass layoffs which have been affecting much of the federal workforce since President Trump returned to office. His pick to lead the department, Linda McMahon, is expected to be confirmed by the GOP-controlled Senate today.
