A San Antonio woman is one of eight suspects under federal indictment for operating a sex trafficking ring.

The indictment says Yuribetzi Gomez Machuca and her co-defendants lured poor young women from Central and South America and forced them into prostitution in the U.S.

The Tennessee-based operation reportedly has ties with the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

Gomez Machuca faces charges related to prostitution, racketeering, and sex trafficking. If convicted, she and her co-defendants could face life in prison.
