Data: Cruz Vs. Allred Was The Most Expensive Senate Race In 2024

Republican U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and Democratic U.S. Representative Colin Allred ran the nation’s most expensive Senate race last year.

Data from the Federal Ethics Commission say the two candidates raised more than 192 million dollars between the two of them. That breaks down to nearly 100 million for Allred and about 92-and-a-half million for Cruz.

Between the beginning of 2023 and the end of 2024, Allred outraised Cruz by nearly seven million dollars. On Election Day, Cruz won by nearly nine percentage points.
