A South Texas school superintendent says federal agents will not be raiding school campuses in search of undocumented students.
Sharyland ISD Superintendent Elaine Howard says she and other area superintendents met with officials from the Border Patrol, ICE and Customs and Border Enforcement last week.
The agencies told Howard that federal agents would only enter a school if they were looking for a known criminal attempting to hide in the building.
Howard also said the agencies will not ask schools or churches to identify individuals who may not be in the U.S. legally.
