A new policy in the Cypress Fairbanks ISD requires district staff to contact parents if students ask to use pronouns that differ from their biological sex.
Cy-Fair trustees passed a policy titled “parents’ rights and responsibilities,” which applies to the 118 thousand students in the state’s third largest school district.
The proposal also bans instructing students about gender identity, and requires them to use the restrooms and locker rooms appropriate for their biological sex.
