By A former Edinburg city councilman is planning a run for mayor. Johnny Garcia plans to challenge current Mayor Ramiro Garza, Junior in November.
Garcia served one term as the Place Three city councilman before losing his re-election bid to David Salazar in 2023. Garcia tells MyRGV-dot-com that he holds no ill will towards Garza but just feels he could do a better job as mayor.
