State Lawmaker Introduces Bill To Prevent Texas State Fair From Banning Guns

0

A Republican state lawmaker from Deer Park is proposing a bill in response to the Texas State Fair’s gun ban on its premises. State Representative Briscoe Cain is one of more than 60 House members who demanded last August that the State Fair cancel its no-guns policy.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton failed to defeat the gun ban in court the following month. Cain introduced a bill last Thursday that would require private entities leasing government land to agree not to ban guns. Cain refers to the matter as a 2nd Amendment issue.
