The state’s General Land Office says the Trump Administration has accepted a proposal to use land in Starr County for future border operations.

The agency posted a clip on social media Tuesday featuring Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham and incoming border czar Tom Homan. During the appearance on “Dr. Phil Primetime,” Homan said he has accepted the offer to lease the land in Starr County and is writing a plan to utilize it.

Texas officials offered to lease the land to the federal government for use as a mass deportation center last month.
