Progreso Selects Interim City Manager

The Progreso City Council has named an interim city manager. The council voted unanimously on Saturday to give the job to Pedro “Pete” Trevino.

Trevino is a private business owner who has no experience in city government management. He will work with outgoing City Manager Alfredo Espinoza, who plans to retire on December 31st.

Espinoza was demoted to assistant city manager during Saturday’s meeting and was directed to help Trevino in managing the transition.
