Round Rock police say a threat to place explosives along city trails was false. The online threats surfaced yesterday, and officers quickly began investigating. They soon determined it was an instance of “swatting,” where individuals make false threats in order to provoke a police response.

The Round Rock Police Department says there’s no threat to the public and they’re investigating who’s responsible for the incident.
