A couple of Texas Republican congressmen are at odds over mass deportations of illegal immigrants. Tony Gonzales of San Antonio says indiscriminate mass deportations would be impractical, and an unpopular move for the Republican Party. He says deportation efforts should focus on violent criminals in the country illegally.

But Chip Roy of Austin says every illegal immigrant needs to be deported, and legal immigration should be shut down until the illegals are removed. There are about 1-point-7 million illegal immigrants in Texas.
