Voters are rejecting the Houston ISD’s 4-point-4-billion-dollar bond proposal. “Renew HISD” was one of the biggest proposed bond issues in the history of the state.
The money would have gone into building and renovating campuses, updating HVAC systems, and career and technical education, including an expansion of the district’s Pre-K program.
Early returns showed the proposals being rejected by about 60 percent of the vote, so district officials conceded.
