McAllen Residents Approve Anti-Corruption, Democracy Measures

Voters in McAllen said yes to the two propositions that petitioners had placed on the ballot. 57 percent voted in favor of Proposition A, titled the Anti-Corruption Act, while 66 percent voted for Proposition B, the Direct Democracy Act.

Prop A limits campaign contributions to city commission candidates to $500 per donor. Prop B allows gives citizens the power of initiative and referendum, and recall.
