Governor Abbott Campaigns For Republican Candidate In Harlingen

Governor Abbott is urging voters in Harlingen to re-elect a Republican candidate who will “have his back” in the Texas Legislature. The governor spoke for about ten minutes Monday during a rally for House District 37 Representative Janie Lopez.

Abbott said Lopez supported his agenda during the last legislative session, including helping fund border wall construction in South Texas. Lopez is running against Democrat Jonathan Gracia in the District 37 race.
