A Donna city councilman is going after the mayor for filing a lawsuit without the city council’s permission. Councilman Oscar Gonzales filed his complaint against Donna Mayor David Moreno earlier this month.
Moreno and City Attorney Robert Salinas sought a temporary restraining order against Gonzales and another city councilman to prevent them from voting during a meeting to discuss the employment of the city manager and the city attorney.
Gonzales says the action was taken without proper notice and a vote by the city council. Moreno says the complaint does not have any merit.
