Federal agents have seized more than 79-thousand dollars in unreported currency after a vehicle inspection at a South Texas bridge.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says a vehicle trying to cross into Mexico stopped at the McAllen-Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge on Monday. Officers made a second inspection after finding problems with the 2008 Honda. Five packages were found hidden in the vehicle.

CBP officials say officers are always looking to stop cash and weapons from flowing into Mexico to support cartel-related activity.
