There will be a different makeup of justices on the 13th Court of Appeals following Tuesday’s election.
In the four seats up for election, the Republican candidate won in all four. Jaime Tijerina defeated Gina Benavides to become the new Chief Justice of the 13th Court of Appeals. For Place 2, Jenny Cron defeated incumbent justice Nora Longoria, taking 54 percent of the vote.
Ysmael Fonseca won over Joe Martinez for Place 4, grabbing 55 percent of the vote. For Place 5, Jon West beat Regina Compian Richardson, taking 58 percent of the vote.
