Suspects Enter Pleas In Kidnapping-Murder Case
Not guilty pleas have been entered by seven of the eight men indicted in the drug-related kidnapping and killing of a Brownsville man this summer. The suspects, including two brothers, were brought before a Brownsville judge Thursday on charges of capital murder and aggravated kidnapping.
It was during the noon hour July 18th when a group of armed men burst into a small restaurant on Military Highway, roughed up 22-year-old Reyes Bocanegra, then shoved him into his SUV and sped off.
Bocanegra was found dead in the vehicle a short time later and a short distance away, with a single gunshot to his head. One other indicted suspect is still being sought.
